It’s Maple Sugaring Season! Learn how to identify and tap sugar maple trees and discover sugaring techniques used by Native Americans, pioneers and modern-day farmers. See an evaporator in action and finish by participating in a taste test challenge to see if you can tell the difference between maple-flavored syrup and the real thing. Tour dates: Sat-Sun Mar 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 25-26. Tour times: Sugar Bush Tours at 11am, 1pm, 2pm-a one mile moderate hike through field and forest to the Sugar Shack (terrain and weather conditions dependent), Maple Lane Tours at 12pm, 3pm-perfect for young children and a short walk from the farmhouse to the new Sugar Shack after a tour of the sugar maple stand. Dress warmly and wear boots. Maple products and hot chocolate available for purchase in the Visitors Center gift shop. Opening Day and The Sugaring Off Celebration will be on Sat Mar 4 11am-3pm with special crafts, games, treats and Native American story telling around the camp fire. Admission.
