Academy Award-winner Helen Mirren (The Queen), plays Queen Elizabeth II in the Tony Award-winning production of The Audience.

Captured live from London’s West End in 2013, the original broadcast returns to international cinemas to mark National Theatre Live’s 10th birthday.

For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II has met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. No one knows what they discuss, not even their spouses.

National Theatre Live—launched in 2009 by the National Theatre (London)—offers you the opportunity to experience ground-breaking theater from the best seat in the house, at a fraction of the cost. The productions are recorded live, with cameras positioned to provide the best views, and simultaneously broadcast to movie theaters around the world. Subsequently, the recordings are made available for encore screenings, which we show at the Downing.

Adult: $12.00
Downing member: $10.00 (with member card)
