St. Patrick’s Day Parades, Music and Laughter Bring the Emerald Isle to Orange County, N.Y.

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (March 5, 2024) – Come enjoy the luck of the Irish in Orange County, N.Y., as St. Patrick’s Day draws near! Get ready for a brand-new fun run, New York’s shortest St. Patrick’s parade (plus a couple of normal-sized ones), a day brimming with festivities, topped off with a comedy show and much more. Even though the holiday falls on March 17, the fun kicks off early and continues for the whole week!

“When St. Patrick’s Day rolls around, we all get a bit of the Irish Spirit and Orange County, N.Y. is the best place to celebrate,” said Amanda Dana, Director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “We’ve got the parades, the music and the laughter that bring the enchantment of Ireland to the Hudson Valley. So put on something green and get ready to enjoy all the fun!

Here are just some of the St. Patrick-related events:

New York’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Parade; 78 Millpond Road, Monroe, N.Y.

March 9, 2 p.m.

At 306 feet, this festive procession is famous as New York’s “Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade.” Marchers proceed from the Cigar Depot to the Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, working up an appetite for corned beef and cabbage. The returning grand marshal will be Allison Murphy. Enjoy a piper, flag bearers and live music at 2:30 p.m. Learn more here.

Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Parade; Main Street, Goshen, N.Y.

March 10, 2 p.m.

Everyone loves a parade, and downtown Goshen’s has been a tradition for 47 years. Come enjoy this traditional herald of spring, honoring the patron saint of the Irish. Learn more here.

First-Ever Newburgh Leprechaun One-Mile Fun Run @ Downtown Newburgh, N.Y.; 1 South Colden St., Newburgh, N.Y.

March 17, 11 a.m.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by running through downtown Newburgh in this fun, new, free event presented by the Newburgh Brewing Company and Orchard Valley CrossFit. All are welcome. Meet at Orchard Valley CrossFit to join. Dressing in green, or as a leprechaun, is not required – but it’s definitely encouraged. This event is sure to become an annual tradition. St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Comedy Special @ City Winery Hudson Valley, 23 Factory St., Montgomery, N.Y.

March 17, live music, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; comedy show, 7:30 p.m.

Merriment and mirth will fill the winery throughout the day and night. The festivities begin with live music and Irish breakfast and lunch specials all day. The mirth comes in the evening when comedians Jane Condon and Joey Callahan perform the Laughs Along the Wallkill St. Patrick’s Day Comedy Special, presented by HnH Comedy. The hilarious Condon keeps audiences in stitches with her witty takes on marriage, kids, politics and more. Callahan has headlined clubs and casinos across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., with his clean, fast, energetic and crowd-pleasing comedy. Learn more about the celebration here. St. Pat’s Ramble in Montgomery; 33 Clinton St., Montgomery, N.Y.

March 23, 11 a.m.

Stroll through the beautiful village of Montgomery in the 11th Annual St. Pat’s Ramble. Then relax and enjoy a parade at 1 p.m. It’s all presented by the Village of Montgomery St. Pat’s Ramble and wellness coach Amy Sara. Learn more here.

Celtic Woman @ Eisenhower Hall Theatre; 655 Pitcher Road,West Point, N.Y.

March 24, 3 p.m.

They are accompanied by a robust ensemble of Irish dancers, bagpipers and a full band playing traditional Celtic instruments.
