Fake News, Alternative Facts – These words and concepts are in the forefront of newsrooms and around the country at large. How much truth is being said? Where is the verification process among the trendy words? How much fact-checking is necessary? And when the real facts are found and stated, who is listening/reading? Two seasoned newsmen, Steve Israel and Barry Lewis, will talk and discuss these headliners in the news. Each speaker will make a presentation. Then, questions on the topic at hand will be discussed. The moderator will be Alex Jakubowski, professor of English who teaches a course in Journalism and Mass Media. Free and open to the public.
