Local author and blogger of “The Hatching Cat,” Peggy Gavan, will be at the library to talk about “The Dames and Damsels of Old New York and the Lap Dogs They Adored.” Peggy, who has written such children’s books as “Seasons” and “Trees,” will tell illustrated and unusual stories of the lap dogs of the rich and famous New York ladies of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Advanced registration in person at the library or by phone is required. Patrons who sign up for this program will be automatically enrolled in Adult Summer Reading, complete with a “Build A Better World” bingo board. Those who fill out their first line;  across, down or diagonally will get to pick out a free Summer paperback. The first 8 people to fill in all 5 lines on the board get a $10 Amazon gift card. Everyone who fills 5 lines will also get into the final drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe.
