Printmaking is Maggie Oakes’ specialty. During her creative process, she uses many techniques and media. “I create intaglio plates using techniques such as: etching, aquatint, mezzotint and electro-etching. I also work with photolithography, silkscreen, relief processes, embossment and Chine-collé.” Her most recent body of prints represents a diversity of her personality, passion and origin. Her work shows various emotions and aspects of her life. An afternoon reception including a tour of the gallery with an explanation of her works, processes, and materials will take place starting at 2 pm on Monday, September 17.
