The Wallkill River School will present the 6th annual Hudson Valley Plein Air Festival. From October 11-15, 2021, artists from around the country will paint “en plein air” (out-of-doors) in various locations around the Hudson Valley region. Artwork created during the festival is exhibited publicly and offered for sale at the Wallkill River School as well as online from October 16 -31. New York’s Hudson Valley is the ideal setting for plein air painting. The area is endowed with a rich history of art and has been a popular destination for many of America’s artists for over 150 years.
Many prizes with 1st Place Award $1,000 for Juried Artists. Artist must apply to participate. Two levels of participation are available—Juried and Painter’s Pass (apply here!). A Jury of Selection will score submissions for Juried Artists and select up to 50 artists to participate in the competition. Painter’s Pass Artists will also participate.

Sat., October 16: 12-1pm Juror of Awards Andrew Lattimore will give a Demonstration
1-3pm Exhibit Opening and Reception (awards announced at 2pm)
Sun., October 31: End of Exhibit. All artwork will be left at the School and remain for sale online
Sun., January 2: End of online sale
12-5pm Pick up all artwork (or on Tues., January 4)
Tues., January 4: 10am-2pm Pick up all artwork
