Hosted by the Preservation of Rest Haven with special guests American Foundation for the Blind, the New York State Division for Historic Preservation and Village of Monroe. You are cordially invited to celebrate the restoration of Rest Haven, in light of its recent addition on both the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places, and in recognition of its architectural and historic significance to the Village of Monroe and the blind community it once served. Built in 1902 was purchased as a vacation home for the blind in 1923. Helen Keller helped operate it.
October is Blind Awareness Month. October 23 1968 marks 50 years since the property was sold.
