Join us to learn how Doc discovered the Forge that made the Great Chain. Doc will share the history of the iron industry that began in 1736 in Sterling Forest. Hear this eye-opening lecture on the role the chain played in saving our fledgling nation! Doc Bayne is a noted Historian and Environmental Educator who presents to audiences throughout the Hudson Valley Region.  In his presentation, he will explain the events that let Peter Townsend to manufacture a Great Chain for the Continental Army to stop the British invasion of the New England colonies during the American Revolution. He’ll also share news on exciting updates about the Forge site.
