GOOSE POND MOUNTAIN HIKE
Join the Friends of Sterling Forest on a moderate hike through wooded trails, open fields, and rolling hills with a view of Goose Pond Mountain. Stops include the area where loyalist leader Claudius Smith used a rock shelter hideout in the Revolutionary War and other historic and natural sites. Please bring sturdy hiking shoes and lunch. As it is hunting season, FSF suggests wearing hunter orange or bright colors other than white. 11am-2pm. Call park to register. Meet at trail head on 17M near Craigville Road, Chester.

ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS VS UMASS
Watch as the Army West Point Black Knights take on UMass! At 9am, experience the full-dress cadet parade on “The Plain” and Fan-Fest with live music, inflatables for kids, food, beer tent, face painting, autographs, tailgate show, and more. Don’t forget to look skyward before kickoff for a parachute demonstration! Price varies by seat. All active or retired military personnel and their families have access to special discounted rate. 12pm game start. Michie Stadium, West Point.

VETERANS DAY WREATH LAYING & TOUR
Join us as we commemorate Veterans Day in a ceremony and wreath laying demonstration at the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. Following the demonstration, visitors are invited to take a guided tour of the Hall of Honor to learn more about the history preserved there and the connection of the Purple Heart to the site. If you would like to join the guided tour, please call to reserve space. Outdoor Ceremony begins at 2pm. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, New Windsor.
