Upstate Coffee Crawl

August 15, 2022 – Coffee connoisseurs and casual sippers know the kick their favorite brewed bean delivers, but now there’s something to perk up java drinkers even more – an Upstate Coffee Crawl!

We are thrilled to announce the second annual Upstate Coffee Crawl! You may ask; What is a Coffee Crawl? Well buckle up! The self-guided event started August 13, 2022. Each participant will procure a Crawler Passport online from www.UpstateCoffeeCrawl.com (printable) or from one of the participating venues scattered across Orange, Sullivan, Pike and Wayne counties. Coffee drinkers have 47 days to ‘crawl’ among said venues to fill their Crawler Passport. Each location has a unique stamp and once a participant’s card has 10 stamps, he or she can be entered into the drawing. The grand prize is valued at over $1,700, which will include a 3-day stay at a Catskills Lux Retreat!

Coffee Crawl

This self-guided event encourages coffee enthusiasts to broaden their caffeinated horizons and support local. The Crawl goes beyond just coffee venues, as we are curating “stay a day” where we will guide Crawlers on what to do nearby. This is a pure celebration of stamina, hope and caffeine! This event is co-sponsored by Foundry42, Orange County Department of Tourism, and Sullivan County Visitors Association.

“Come enjoy some great coffee, whether you take it light and sweet or prefer cappuccinos, macchiatos or lattes!” said Amanda Dana, Director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “With so many variations, plus a wealth of teas to choose from, there are plenty of deliciously brewed sips to savor. Grab a cup on your way into work or while strolling through downtown. We are proud to partner with the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association and Foundry42 in spreading the word about the spectacular coffee scene here. It also makes great fuel to keep you going from one attraction to the next when you spend the weekend in one of our charming bed and breakfasts or other lodging options.”

“The Sullivan Catskills is delighted to once again team with our tri-state regional partners in sponsoring the second Upstate Coffee Crawl that will inspire visitation to local businesses and communities while experiencing the various coffees and teas available from some of our finest coffee shops.” stated Roberta Byron-Lockwood, President/CEO of the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association and Orange County Tourism & Film for the Second Annual Upstate Coffee Crawl!” said Cooper Boone of Foundry 42, a workshop and home furnishings retail space with a coffee bar in Port Jervis, N.Y. “This event is an invitation to explore local coffee shops outside of your normal routine, each having their own unique take on coffee, style, and beautiful locations throughout these neighboring towns. Foundry42 has had a mission from its inception to cultivate a strong sense of community and belonging. And how better to share and connect than with a delicious cup of coffee in hand!”

It’s simple to join. Just follow these steps:

  • Pick up a “passport” at any of 16 participating venues or print one out from www.UpstateCoffeeCrawl.com
  • Drink some java
  • Get the passport stamped
  • Repeat at the next location

You could almost follow the aroma from one coffee place to another but follow the attached list to make sure you hit them all. Once you receive stamps from 10 of the participating locations, turn in the passport at any of the venues, post a photograph of yourself with the card and tag @UpstateCoffeeCrawl on Instagram. That enters you into the drawing.
But you don’t have to do it all in one day. The campaign runs through September 29, which is National Coffee Day.
