Looking for Craft Beverages in Orange County? There’s an App for That

Craft beverage lovers can thank Orange County Tourism for the launch of a free application that gives iPhone and Android users the luxury of planning a craft beverage trip via their mobile device.

The OCNY Craft Beverage Tour app, which focuses on the Orange County region, features breweries like Pine Island Brewing Company and Long Lot Farm Brewery, along with cideries, distilleries, and wineries. Descriptions of each of the locations, along with their addresses, can be found on the interactive map. The app also has links to Orange County Tourism’s craft beverage partners that keeps users updated on product details, hours of operation, and exciting events at each location.

Orange County Tourism Director Amanda Dana talks about how craft beverage locations impact the region and how the app will attract more visitors.

“The craft beverage scene is booming in Orange County. Its continued growth has had a positive impact on surrounding local businesses, and the Hudson Valley region as a whole,” says Dana. “By launching this app, we’re reaching out to expand our tourism audience. It puts Orange County’s craft beverage attractions right at their fingertips.”

The app also gives users transportation options, so feel free to leave the car at home. Choose different bus trips like The Little Wine Bus, The Brew Bus, and The Little Beer Bus. For a more private option, hire a chauffeur through All Transportation Network. For larger parties, the transport companies offer vehicles ranging from sedans to coach buses to accommodate everyone’s needs.

“Drinking craft beverages is about the experience,” says Dana. “We want visitors to come to Orange County to experience craft beverages, but also explore other things this county has to offer. We are confident that this app can achieve that.”
