Welcome 2023! Orange County, N.Y., Will Ring in New Year With Classic Parties, a Disco Murder Mystery and a ‘First Day’ Hike

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (Dec. 22, 2022) – Welcome 2023 in Orange County, N.Y., with the perfect New Year’s Eve party. Celebrate at a classic celebration or hustle back to the days of disco for a murder mystery event. Whichever celebration you enjoy, you can start 2023 right with a four-mile “First Day” hike.

“Orange County, N.Y. is the perfect place for new beginnings, joyous toasts and celebrations to remember!” said Amanda Dana, Director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “Whether you’re looking for rustic, elegant, unique, kid-friendly or adult only celebrations, we have a party for you to ring in the new year your way. Stay for the weekend at one of our inns, bed & breakfasts or other accommodations, and start 2023 with a scenic hike.”

New Year’s Eve, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022

Kid Friendly Afternoon New Year’s Eve Party
Newburgh Brewing Company

It’s actually called Our Very 1st Ever New Year’s Eve Party for People with Kids Who Won’t Make it Until Midnight But 5 p.m. is Perfect. The name says it all. Almost. New Year’s Eve Party
Cedar Lakes Estate, 1 Team USA Way, Port Jervis, N.Y. 12771, 6 p.m.
$225 (Free for cottage guests.)
Dress up and enjoy a wonderful evening in the spectacular candle-lit barn celebrating the coming of 2023. Live entertainment will perform upbeat and festive tunes all night. Enjoy a seven-course chef’s tasting menu with local ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Dinner includes drink pairings and a toast to ring in the New Year. Cocktail attire is required. Children are welcome, but the event is designed with adults in mind.

Stayin’ Alive? A Disco Murder Mystery New Year’s Eve Party

Tony Marinara is staging a comeback, and he’s bringing disco with him. But his plan won’t be easy, and may result in a nefarious outcome – amid all the fun! Hustle back in time and ring in 2023 with this interactive murder mystery dinner and dance party. It’ll be “disco or die.” Who will be left Stayin’ Alive? Tickets includes a welcome drink, bubbly toast and three-course dinner.

New Year’s Eve Party
The Barn at Village Venezia, 2278 Goshen Turnpike, Middletown, N.Y. 10941, 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.
$175 (plus 15% service charge and tax)
Ring in the new year with music by Next Generation DJ Entertainment, an open bar, charcuterie boards, hors d’oeuvres, a raw bar, carving and hot food stations, desserts and more.
(Guests must be 21 or older.)

New Year’s Eve Party
Mattingly’s Tavern, 16 North Main St., Florida, N.Y. 10921, 9 p.m.
Spend New Year’s Eve at Mattingly’s Tavern featuring Dom Perignon, wine, and the high-energy music of one of the Hudson Valley’s premier bands, 105. (Bottle of Dom Perignon must be reserved in advance.)

New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2023

First Day Hike
Sterling Forest State Park, 116 Old Forge Road, Tuxedo, N.Y. 10987, 10 a.m.
Start the New Year with a mile four-mile hike around scenic Sterling Lake. Hikers will encounter historic structures from the iron industry, some predating the Revolutionary War. Event is weather-permitting. Registered participants will be called in case of cancellation. Trail is not maintained, so wear appropriate footwear and attire. Bring water and a snack.
