To Bear Mountain State Park, Perkins Memorial Drive, Harriman State Park from the Palisades Interstate Parkway / Bear Mountain Bridge traffic circle:
The first exit off the traffic circle, Route 9W south, leads to Bear Mountain State Park. It’s a beautiful place to stretch your legs with paths that offer Hudson River views, access to the Wildlife Center, and a stroll around Hessian Lake. It is also the site of the famous Adirondack-style Bear Mountain Inn, recently renovated and restored to its original slendor. In addition to the Inn, lodging and Sunday Brunch are available at the Overlook Lodge and Stone Cottages situated on Hessian Lake. Every Wednesday evening from May through early September, the park hosts a huge car and bike show on the lawn. An Oktoberfest, held weekends in September and October, is a popular fall event at this location.
Continue onto Perkins Memorial Drive and up the mountain to spectacular views of the Hudson River at Perkins Tower. Just south of the Bear Mountain Inn go toward US 202 W/US-9W S for about ½ mile. Make a slight right on 7 Lakes Drive. 2 miles ahead make a slight right on Perkins Memorial Drive. You can return via 7 Lakes Drive to the Bear Mountain Inn, or enjoy a ride through Harriman State Park by turning sharp right on Seven Lakes Drive. Follow the ramp to thePalisades Interstate Parkway/US-6 W to exit 18 toward NY-17/I-87/Central Valley/Seven Lakes Drive. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto Seven Lakes Road. There are lakes and picnic areas throughout the park.
